MS Anchor LG installation specs
  • The anchor requires a 1/2" diameter hole, drilled a minimum of 7/8” deep.
  • Drill the hole with a hammer drill and a ½” carbide tipped masonry bit. Minimum embed depth is 7/8” (the same as the anchor length).
  • Clean the hole with a wire brush, compressed air or a blow-out bulb. Make sure dust and debris from drilling does not prevent proper seating of anchor.
  • Insert the anchor into the drilled hole with the threaded cone at the bottom. Tap with a hammer so the anchor is flush or just recessed from the masonry surface.
  • Insert the large setting tool (small end first) into the anchor and strike it with a hammer until the top lip of the anchor touches the larger diameter of the setting tool.
  • Thread the ¼-20 eyebolt into the machine screw anchor.

When and Where to Use Machine Screw Masonry Anchors:
  • These machine screw masonry anchors are made from Antimonial Lead Alloy and Zamac Alloy. They are designed to be installed in concrete, block, and brick. Ideal for exterior use.
  • Use the machine screw masonry anchors to facilitate the installation of either the HD stainless steel large eyebolt or the stainless steel small eyebolt cable guide in masonry surfaces.
  • Both anchors are components of the cable hardware used to fasten Nixalite’s bird netting and overhead wire grid deterrents to structural masonry surfaces.
Machine Screw Anchor Installation Tips:
  • Make sure to blow the dust out of the drilled holes before installing the anchors.
  • We suggest using a small quantity of adhesive/sealer in the hole prior to installation (after blowing out the debris) to help prevent water from getting into the drilled holes.
  • Do not install these anchors too close to unsupported edges. For the MS Anchor LG, stay at least 2-1/2” away from unsupported edges. For the MS Anchor SM, stay at least 2” away from unsupported edges.
  • You only need one setting tool. This tool is designed to install several hundred of these anchors. You do not need one tool for every 100 count box of anchors.
  • Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
