No. 651 Fifra 25b Exempt Rodent Bio-Repellent
Because rodents have turned out to be a lot smarter than we thought, controlling even the smallest rodent infestation can be difficult… until now. Introducing DeTour for Rodents, our powerful rodent Bio-Repellent. DeTour provides a very effective pest control for even largest rodent infestations. DeTour has applications as both an interior and exterior repellent and is safe for humans and pets to be around.
How It Works:
DeTour uses the active ingredient Capsaicin, which is extracted from hot peppers. Capsaicin is completely harmless yet has been successfully used to repel rats, mice, squirrels and other animals such as racoons. This ingredient has the same effect on rodents as it would on us. When rodents come into contact with DeTour, they experience the feeling we experience by eating hot chili peppers or rubbing these peppers on our skin.
The second pests invade a treated area, they will feel the need to flee and start looking for ways to get out of the area. After DeTour has touched their bodiesl, they carry the product back to the places where we cannot effectively treat. Anywhere the animal goes with the formulation makes it inhospitable to current and future residents. This revolutionary product is the first of its kind that takes the repellent with the rodent to the rodents home. DeTour is a scientifically proven and humane pest control that uses a physiological adverse reaction. DeTour can be used alone or with other forms of rodent repellent.
DeTour for Roaches
Everyone hates cockroaches! Not only are cockroaches ugly but they are creepy. Cockroaches may become pests in homes, schools, restaurants, hospitals, warehouses, offices, and virtually in any structure that has food preparation or storage areas. They contaminate food and eating utensils, destroy fabric and paper products, and impart stains and unpleasant odors to surfaces they contact. People are repulsed when they find cockroaches in their homes and kitchens.
Nocturnal creatures; cockroaches feed in the dark of the night when you are sleeping. Upon turning on the kitchen light, the cockroach freezes in surprise and you will see the cockroaches scamper for safe locations. During the day cockroaches sleep and hide behind and under the refrigerators, freezers, sinks, pipes and appliances. Cockroach infestations can be determined by sighting the number of cockroaches; noticing small like specs of what look likes pepper that is really cockroach feces! Now that is disgusting! If you notice or can see cockroaches scurrying around on the walls and counter tops in the day time. It is a good bet that you have a very large problem.
Cockroaches eat almost any organic substance no matter how rotten or rancid. Once inside the home, they will seek out food scraps, unsealed food containers, sugar and grease deposits, pet food, rancid meat, glue and even book bindings. Cockroaches eat each others feces, to feed the young “nymphs” and extract all nourishment from an organic food source. If you see a clump of pepper-like specs in your kitchen cupboards, it is likely cockroach feces marking their courtship and nearby nesting territory.
The cockroach likes well hidden locations that have access to plenty of food, warmth and moisture. By taking away these inviting environments from cockroaches, the immediate population will be held in check. However, you will still have the task of ridding your home, business or apartment of the creepy cockroach.
Cockroach abatement is not easy. You must first determine where the roaches are located. The more hiding places you locate and manage, the more successful your control program will be. Remember that cockroaches are tropical and most like warm hiding places with access to water. Some locations may be difficult to get to. Reduction of food and water sources and hiding places is essential. If cockroaches have access to food, baits (which are a primary control tool) have limited effect. Sprays alone will not eliminate cockroaches.
Cockroaches can hide in a crack 1/16 inch or 1.6 mm wide. Immature cockroaches tend to stay in even smaller cracks where they are well protected. Cockroaches tend to congregate in corners and generally travel along the edges of walls or other surfaces.
The most well-known species are the American cockroach, which is about 30 mm (1 inch) long, the German cockroach, about 15 mm (1/2 inch) long, the Asian cockroach, about 15 mm (1/2 inch) in length, and the Oriental cockroach, which is about 25 mm (3/4 inch). Tropical cockroaches are often much bigger. and extinct cockroach relatives such as the Carboniferous Archimylacris and the Permian Apthoroblattina were several times as large as these. Cockroaches are generally considered pests; however, only about 30 species (less than 1%) infest urban habitats. (Source: Wikipedia 2008 & NPMA)

DeTour or RoadBlock?

If the application area is located where human or pet contact is unlikely, use the DeTour repellent in bead form. If the application is out in the open and human or pet contact is likely or expected, use RoadBlock pass through boxes to help prevent human contact and protect the DeTour from the curious.
