When and Where to use Galvanized Steel Net Cable:
  • Not as long lasting as stainless steel but less expensive. Has same strength for diameter as stainless steel with slightly less cable flexibility. Use for installations where cost is more important than longevity.
  • Use to tension, anchor or otherwise fix in place the bird exclusion netting lines available from Nixalite of America Inc. A tensioned perimeter & cross support cable system is the strongest and longest lasting support for bird exclusion netting installations.
  • Use to anchor, support or otherwise fix in place the deer and perimeter fencing and fence hardware lines available from Nixalite of America Inc. Use as fence post supports, top and middle fence supports and more.
  • Use as a perimeter cable for overhead grid wire installations. Run our lighter FliteLine cable to create the large grid boxes.
Maximum tensioned cable length by turnbuckle size:
  • Small turnbuckle – 25 feet (7.62 M) unbroken length
  • Medium turnbuckle - 50 feet (15.24 M) unbroken length
  • Large turnbuckle* - 75 feet (22.8 M) unbroken length
  • Runs beyond 75 feet (22.8 M) are not recommended. If circumstances require it, use a turnbuckle at each end of the cable run.
*Note: use caution when using the large turnbuckles. They can be tensioned beyond the capacity of some net hardware and surface materials.

Net Cable Installation Tips:
  • When estimating for Net Cable, always add extra to the total. Each loop connection can use a foot or more of cable. There are never less than 2 loop connections per cable run.
  • After completing the loop connection, use a magic marker and draw a solid line across both the tensioned and tag ends of the cable. You can tell if the cable has come loose as the drawn line will be misaligned.
  • Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
  • If you cannot drill, cut or weld on the installation surface, you still might be able to fasten the Net Cables. You might be able to create individual cable loops around parts of the structure to which you can fasten the tensioned perimeter and cross support cables. Call Nixalite for details.
