Installing Nixalite’s® Standard Mounting Hardware
The following instructions provide step-by-step guidelines for installing Nixalite’s standard mounting hardware. Before beginning, make sure you have the hardware positions spaced properly and marked on the surface. If you haven’t done this yet, go to the Surface Layout page first.

Will you be using Adhesive to fasten the Nixalite?
If you must use adhesive or Nixalite's Glue Clips in place of the supplied mounting hardware, go to the Adhesive Procedures page.

Will you be using Custom Made Forms or Ridge Caps to install your Nixalite?
If so, you can skip this section and refer directly to the installation documents that were provided with these items.

Masonry Mounting Hardware

  1. Drill a 1/4”(0.63cm) diameter hole, 1” (2.5 cm) deep

  2. Insert anchors into the drilled holes.
Tip: add a silicone sealer/adhesive in the drilled hole before inserting the anchor. This helps ensure a water tight seal between the surface and the anchor.
  3. Insert the nail through the eyelet of the mounting clip and push into the anchor.
  4. Seat the nail and clip into anchor with a hammer.
Wood and Sheet Metal Mounting Hardware
  1. If necessary, make a small pilot hole for the sheet metal screws using a drill or punch.
  2. Insert the screw through the eyelet of the clip and through the washer.
Tip: Assemble the hardware in advance - save time on site.
Tip: apply a silicone sealer/adhesive to each hardware location. This helps ensure a water tight seal.
  3. Nixalite’s sheet metal screws are square drive (Robertson’s drive). Make sure you have the appropriate square drive before starting the installation. To purchase a square drive tool or bit, go to the Nixalite Accessories page.
Steel and Iron Mounting Hardware
  1. Drill a 5/32” (3.9 mm) hole, ½” (1.3cm) deep.
  2. Insert the drive screw through the eyelet of the clip and through the washer. This can be done in advance of the installation to save time on-site.
Tip: add a silicone sealer/adhesive in the drilled hole before installing the Drive Screws. This helps ensure a water tight seal.
  3. Seat the assembled hardware with a hammer. The Drive Screw is an interference fit – it must be driven flush to the surface with adequate force.
