What is ColorCoat?
ColorCoat is an electrostatic powder coating process that applies a tough, durable and long lasting color coating to the
Premium Nixalite and E-Spike bird spike models that will not chip, split or peel. It is available in
6 standard colors and numerous custom colors.
Why Use ColorCoat?
Nixalite's Premium Nixalite and E-Spike Bird Spikes
use very thin wire construction, making them difficult to see when viewed at normal distances (from the ground or the street).
However, there are those installations where the
bird spikes must
blend in with its surroundings as much as possible. For these installations, we offer ColorCoat
Powder Coating process as an added cost option.
Standard ColorCoat
Colors
For most applications, one of our 6 stock colors will
provide the match needed.
Stock colors include; white, black, grey, tan, brown and bronze.
Custom ColorCoat
Colors
If you have an unusual color or if a close color match is required, Nixalite can use your color sample to find the closest possible match.
We have a wide range of custom powder coat colors available. Please read the following Custom Color Submittal guidelines.
Custom Color Submittals Requirements:
When providing a color sample, Nixalite requires a color sample, not less than 2" (5.1cm) square for reference. This can be a color chip or a piece of the installation surface. Nixalite
will not accept commercial color or paint codes as a
replacement for required surface color sample.
NOTE: The color you provide is the color we will reference!
If the original surface color has weathered or faded, make sure the sample you send reflects this change.
Consider the background color. If the
bird spikes will be installed on a ledge in front of a wall or window, match the color of the surface behind the ledge. If the
spikes are installed on top of the structure (with only the sky behind), use a color that will blend readily with the sky.
ColorCoat Policies:
- Available on 4ft
long spike strips only.
- ColorCoat cost
is added to the cost of the bird spikes.
- All ColorCoat orders are paid for
in advance of powder coating.
- All ColorCoat orders are non-returnable, non-refundable items.
- ColorCoat orders require
additional delivery time. Contact Nixalite for details.
- ColorCoat color matching must
follow the Custom Color Submittal requirements.

A standard black ColorCoat is used to hide the
Nixalite installed on the lower box beams that support an
overhead canopy. |

A standard black ColorCoat is used to closely match the black background colors even though the Nixalite
strips were installed on several brightly colored items. Always consider the surface against which the Nixalite
strips will be viewed. |

The corporate color is a "Panasonic Blue" and Nixalite was asked to match the color closely. As you can see the
custom match is almost perfect. |
